I wake, study language, hold my love.
I boil water, exercise, steep coffee, work the crossword.
I kneel at the altar and pull a spread for the day.
I shower, reflect, am caressed, discuss the day.
I dress, pack lunch, see my love away, kneel.
I study the ancient search for understanding.
I contemplate the unanswerable routine of our lives.
I lament the suffering of the ignorant and hurt.
I kneel in gratitude to the transient fruits of my life.
I take in the sunlight and consider the nature of stars.
When one would listen, I share what I have seen.
I share my thoughts. I wonder aloud at my ignorance.
When I am inspired, I pull the sands of reality together
into real, little castles.
I rejoice in the sensation of each grain.
I recall the form for a time after it is gone.
I move on to other castles.
I sing, I play, I love.
I explore this body, I adorn it, I exalt it.
I join others in the exaltation of their form.
